
The temple of Jai Kali Maa (Kalinka) Maa Bhagwati is located in the east direction of North India between the district Pauri Garhwal and Almora (Kumaon). Mother is worshiped once in 3 years due to the call of Goddess Bhagwati. Which is also known as Kshetravashi Maa Kalinka Jatoda.
Jatoda of Maa Kalinka begins with Kotha Talla, the main residence of Maa Kali.
The priest of Kalinka is a Pandit (Brahmin) of Jakhola. This Jakhol village, which is also called Mamgai, is located near Thalisain. Those who have been given the responsibility of worshiping Kalinka. Mamgai Pandit celebrates the temple worship. This Pandit is very knowledgeable who has been doing Puja with complete legal practice.
Jatoda of Maa Kalinka takes place between Mangalbar or Shanibar between December and January. With the brotherhood and love of the 14 villages, the elders of all the 14 brothers worship together.
Now 14 village meetings are held every month. And in the same way, for Jatode (Maile), all the Badari Bhai (Mother's call) meet and meet in the first place (due to Jatoda or not due to mother's kindness) in that meeting it is decided that 2 to 3 People should be sent to Jakhola, who will propose to their priests in front of all the priests. They go to Jakhola and offer it to all the pandits and then the auspicious date is issued by all the pandits. In Jakhola, there are families of 70 to 75 Brahmins who are involved in all the pujas. And after that, the Badari brothers come back and tell the date once again in the meeting. And thus all the Badari brothers are engaged in the process of worship.
After this, the Guru who plays Oji (Dhol Damau) is invited, Oji are the ones who play the Dole Damau and the deities perform the Pujan and Jagran. These dhols start the puja by playing damau Oji (Guru) plays a main role in the puja.
Pooja begins with Kotha Talla. Which is the main abode of Mother Bhagwati. In which the journey is done for 11 days. It depends whether the good day is either Tuesday and either Saturday. Earlier the journey used to be of 2 months or 3 months, now that travel has been limited and kept within 14 villages.
Badari Vansaj gets Mother worship done every 2 to 3 years with the invitation and blessings of Mother.
Mother is worshiped a day before, which we call (Kautik). In this, all 14 villages are prayed for peace and to make the journey auspicious.
Then the next day we all travel with the structure of Mother Bhagwati (giving a form of Nyaja God) to 14 villages which is also called Nyaja, the rural resident (region). After creating the structure of Mother Bhagwati on the first day with the sun rising (the first ray of the sun), the darshan of Bhagwati is performed to all the devotees. (Bhagwati departs) and then the journey begins. The first day is a journey from Kotha Talla to Kotha Malla. And on the second day in the morning from Kotha Malla to Thalakholi to Thabadia, Thabadia to Markhola, Markhola to Bandarkot Talla, Bandarkot Talla to Bandarkot Malla, Bandarkot Malla to Talsedi San, Talsedi San to Rani Dera, Rani Dera to Shiva Temple (Kulanteshwar Pagoda) After bathing with water, all the worship materials are worshiped and purified. Then there are further departures from Bakhli, Matkani from Bakhali, Lakhora Mal from Matkani. La Lkhora Malla from Bicl Baklai and upstairs floors of Bicl Baklai, thus travel completed | In this way, the journey of the entire 14 villages is completed, which is called the journey within the area of Kairi. On this day Chhota Jatoda takes place in the evening and on the next morning, with the first ray of the sun, it is headed towards Maa Kalinka temple.
Goddess Bhagwati lives in a special place in the temple and all the devotees do a grand darshan of the mother. In Jatode, devotees come in number of people from far away.
Devotees take rice, coconut, sardine, agarbati sun lamp with them in the feet of the mother Our elder sister brings flowing rice, we are also called living (Disha).
This fair (Jatoda) is held from 7 am to 4 pm, in which shopkeepers start their different shops. Sharing happiness with your food and drink. Here Jalebi is considered as the main dessert. Almost everyone enjoys Jalebi.
Finally, the time for closing the jatode comes. At the same time, Mother Bhagwati is taken back to her place (Kotha Talla). All people leave their respective homes.
And the next day, the Pandit complete the procession with havan, puja, gon dan. Finally there is another puja in 14 villages called Dalli, a resident of the area.
Thus the entire process lasts for a month and the worship ends with the blessings of Mother Bhagwati. Mother's shadow and Maya remains on all the devotees. Thus, the whole process lasts for a month and the mother gets shocked when she gets called.
